What We Believe

We believe the Bible is “God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16) We believe it is without error and totally trustworthy. We believe the Bible is the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe God is all-powerful, all knowing and that we owe to Him the highest love, reverence and obedience.

We believe man was created by and for God; that by man’s disobeying God, every person incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God, and physical death as a consequence. We believe all people are sinners by nature and “if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves” (1 John 1:8).

We believe Jesus Christ is God’s only Son, He was born of a virgin, and being fully God and fully man did not sin.  We believe Jesus was crucified on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all who choose to accept His amazing gift of salvation (1 Timothy 1:15). We believe “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). We believe “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

We believe Jesus conquered death by the resurrection of His physical body three days after He was put to death and He now sits at the right hand of God. We believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus Christ (John 14:1-3). We believe “our citizenship is in heaven and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so they will be like His glorious body.” (Philippians 3:21) “And so shall we forever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17) Until then, we believe we are to strive to “live holy and Godly lives as we look forward to the day of God.” (2 Peter 3:11,12)

We believe that all who receive the gift of salvation are children of God (John 1:12) and thus part of his family. The family illustrates God’s relationship with his people. God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church.
